Of all the things you might have expected from this Pokémon Presents, a stop-motion animation might have hardly been on your list.

Netflix has become the home of the Pokémon anime, and the streamer hopes to extend its partnership with the series – by bringing something fresh to the anime itself.

The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Concierge – a stop-motion animated series produced by Dwarf Studio. While these adorable monsters have received a number of specials, ranging from YouTube Specials to the amazing mini-series that was Pokémon Origins, Concierge is expected to be something new from the creators.

During a rather brief presentation for the series, Minyoung Kim, Netflix’s VP of content for the Asia-Pacific region revealed that they are working on a brand-new story for Pokémon that “expands the Pokémon universe with groundbreaking stop-motion animation.”

The trailer does not give up much about the series, except for the fact that it’s a resort where Pokémon visit as guests. The trailer shows a Psyduck waddling across the beach, followed by a glimpse of the titular concierge – Haru.

The series has received no release date as of yet. As Minyoung Kim defines the series as having “groundbreaking animation,” we expect it to show up no early that Fall this year, right in time to accompany the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
