THE SOLO LEVELING TRAILER TEASES THE BEGINNINGS OF SUNG JIN-WOO.

Finally, there’s some news regarding the upcoming Solo Leveling anime. A-1 Pictures have been relatively tight-lipped about the series ever since it was announced last year — but the studio has finally unveiled the very first trailer of Solo Leveling.

With the stellar animation unveiled, the animation studio has also confirmed that the series premieres “next winter” — indicating a winter 2024 release window.

Solo Leveling originally began serialization as a web novel written by Korean author Chugong back in 2016 and later received a webtoon comic illustrated by the late artist DUBU in 2018, before concluding in December 2021.

  • The series is set in a universe where awakened humans known as “Hunters” battle supernatural creatures to protect humanity and earn a living.
  • Series protagonist “Sung Jin-Woo” begins as the weakest of hunters until he meets his untimely demise in a party expedition gone wrong.
  • However, fate has other plans for the E-Class Hunter, as an unknown magical power known as “The System” grants the dying hunter the ability to grow stronger limitlessly.

The trailer depicts the moments when Sung Jin-Woo awakens his abilities as the titular “Solo Leveler,” followed by a glimpse of the reawakened hunter.

While the series is set to premiere in Winter 2024, the details about its run still remain scarce. With the expansive storyline of the web novel, it doesn’t seem probable that it all could fit into a single season — but we do know that the studio would plan to capitalize on the series’ success.

A-1 Pictures have breathed life into some of the most beautiful animations in recent memory, including Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Sword Art Online, and Blue Exorcist, and Solo Leveling seems to be just as beautifully crafted.

The anime will be streaming on Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.
