THE POKÉMON GO PLUS+ IS A SLEEP TRACKER WITH A TOUCH OF ADORABLE

The Pokémon GO Plus Plus Is More Than Just a Weird Name.

While it may be the dumbest name for anything Pokémon, the $54.99 Pokémon GO Plus+ is a pretty useful accessory for the estimated 70-something million people still playing Pokémon GO.

While the disk-shaped accessory might give you Pokéwalker vibes, there’s one thing that actually makes it useful – it tracks your sleep through Pokémon Sleep. Pairing the GO Plus+ with Pokémon GO allows you to sign up for “special research,” in which you encounter a Snorlax wearing a nightcap.

When going to sleep, you simply press and hold the button on your GO Plus+ until it is illuminated blue once, and then simply press it once again when you wake up. You also get a lullaby sung by Pikachu itself, which is surely worth the money if your sleep data isn’t.

Paired with Pokémon GO, the Plus+ also allows you to play the game without actually playing the game – by automatically spinning PokéStops and throwing Pokéballs (including Great and Ultra Balls).

Pre-orders for the Pokémon GO Plus+ went live earlier, but the device was quickly sold out on Nintendo’s online store after the announcement. The device begins shipping on July 17th, and can currently be reserved at Best Buy and GameStop.
